The founders of Sumo Group, a UK game dev powerhouse, are calling it quits after 22 wild years. Yeah, that’s a long time.
So get this, the big wigs – CEO Carl Cavers, COO Paul Porter, and the guy with the fancy title director of excellence and integration, Darren Mills – they’re all bowing out. The CEO seat is now a kinda duo thing with CFO Andy Stewart teaming up with freshly minted COO Gary Dunn. Odd couple or dream team? Guess we’ll find out.
Also, Tim Repa-Davies, the legal eagle and business aficionado, just scored a board spot. Not bad, eh?
Cavers had this to say: “Leaving something we’ve nurtured for over two decades is tough, yet it feels right.” Makes you think, doesn’t it? Building something, then just walking away.
Tim chimed in too, saying it’s all natural for Sumo. Staying true to themselves or whatever. “Strong foundation, looking ahead…” you know the drill. Anyway, they seem pretty psyched about what lies ahead.
Just imagine all those office farewells and awkward goodbyes. Or maybe not. Who knows how it really goes down.
