So, when does this action-packed event kick off? Mark your calendars for Friday, December 6th. From 18:00 to 20:00 (CET), or 17:00 to 19:00 if you’re in the UK, players across Europe will clash in epic battles. The competition is open to gaming enthusiasts from countries like Austria, France, Germany, and even as far as Sweden and the United Kingdom. However, for gamers in distant locales within Europe, like the Azores or Svalbard archipelago, participation might be a challenge due to connectivity concerns.
Keen on joining the fray? You’ll need a Nintendo Account set to one of the participating countries and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership—be it a full subscription or just a trial. Fire up Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, head to the main menu, and navigate through “Online” to “Official Tourney Qualifiers” to jump into the competition.
What’s on the line here? It’s all about the Tourney score, a special rating that quantifies each player’s expertise by factoring in the skill level of your opponents. You can keep tabs on your score throughout the event and play as many matches as you can handle during the two-hour window. Even if a match starts just before the event ends, it will count towards your final score, provided it finishes after the event closes.
Now, no competition is complete without some tempting prizes. The top 10 scorers will each bag 2,500 My Nintendo Gold Points—a tidy sum for more gaming goodies. Meanwhile, those who secure positions 11 through 100 will earn themselves 1,000 points each.
