An Overwatch 2 enthusiast recently highlighted a missed connection in the collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender, noting that Ashe could have received a skin tied to this beloved universe. Since Blizzard’s successful crossover with One-Punch Man, the company has been rolling out various pop-culture-themed cosmetics, with Avatar being one of the latest editions.

As fans of the game might already know, Ashe previously got a stylish Cowboy Bebop skin. In this collaboration, her character was transformed into Faye Valentine, a key player from the iconic 1998 anime who embarks on adventures alongside Spike Spiegel and Jet Black. Even Ashe’s trusty sidekick BOB was decked out in a new look, inspired by Faye’s ship. Nevertheless, a particular Overwatch 2 player has envisioned how a skin from the Avatar world could have enhanced Ashe’s dynamic.

On Reddit, user R2d2s_bleeper expressed disappointment that Blizzard didn’t design a skin for Ashe based on June from Avatar: The Last Airbender. The sentiment stems from both characters being voiced by Jennifer Hale, a renowned voice actress known for her roles in Mortal Kombat 1, Bayonetta 3, and X-Men ’97, among others. This Redditor also suggested that BOB could have been reimagined as a badger mole, the giant blind mammal native to the Earth Kingdom within the Avatar series.

While some members of the community agree with this perspective, others point out that June’s limited appearances in the Avatar series might be why Blizzard passed on creating a skin inspired by her. Meanwhile, revelations from the game community suggest that Overwatch 2 players can look forward to seeing skins of more prominent Avatar characters like Aang, Zuko, Toph, Suki, and Appa, tailored for heroes like Zenyatta, Genji, Venture, Kiriko, and Orisa. A standout is Venture, who will be receiving a collaboration cosmetic with a fresh twist on their usual attire.

Launched on December 10, this new season introduces Hazard, a fresh addition to the hero lineup boasting excellent mobility and damage potential.
