Alright, so there’s this big Marvel Rivals update dropping on August 8, right? And there’s this buzz about the Queen’s Codex event. Yup, you heard it! Free skin for The Thing. It’s kinda awesome they’ve been doing this free stuff through Twitch drops and events. Seriously, who doesn’t love free costumes?
Speaking of costumes – here I go on a tangent – they’ve been a huge thing in Marvel Rivals. The Season 3 battle pass is like a treasure trove. Symbiote skins, gold and white suits, that Phoenix robe… Oh, and the crowd favorite? Jeff the Land Shark and Squirrel Girl. Why those two? Maybe because they’re just, I don’t know, oddly adorable?
Anyway, back to Queen’s Codex. NetEase, the developer (they always seem busy, right?), is behind this. Starting August 8, players will dive into multiple reward tiers and snag that symbiote outfit for The Thing for – get this – absolutely nothing. No cash needed.
But if you’re willing to splash some dough, there’s something for Black Widow and Hela too. Premium Codex gets you Phoenix Black Widow and the wicked Queen of Black costume for Hela. So, tossing your money into this might be a solid shout if you’re a big fan. They even fixed a glitch for Hela recently. Maybe they felt guilty? Or just want to make players happy. Who knows?
And there’s more costume craziness – they also have this “Sunshine Thing.” Imagine The Thing in a black swimsuit and a lei. Yeah, I laughed too. That’s part of the Marvel Rivals Summer Special. Special indeed because it’s running only till August 15. But like Codex, buy it once, and it’s yours forever. Kinda feels like buying loyalty, doesn’t it?
August 8 also brings other nifty updates. Blade’s joining Marvel Rivals, plus a new map called Throne of Knull (ooh, ominous) and a game mode named Resource Rumble. That one hits Quick Match first on August 22. Seems like they want players’ opinions before making it big. I mean, listening to fans? Refreshing!
All in all, it’s an action-packed August for Marvel Rivals. Whether you’re splurging on that Premium Codex or diving into those free rewards, there’s a bit of everything. Just don’t get too lost in the madness – unless that’s your thing.
