Sure thing! Here we go—
So, here’s the deal. Mario Kart World just got its first update on the Nintendo Switch 2. Big news, I know, right? Anyway, so the game launched with this, um, day one patch you can download. It’s like they’re giving us the gift of online and LAN play. Kind of wild, yeah? Also, some multiplayer stuff got a little polish. Which is good because racing against my little cousin was a bit glitchy before.
Oh, and little side note, the Switch 2 itself got an update too. I guess they’re making sure everything’s good to go for the launch. All shiny and ready, you know?
Now, here’s where my brain starts drifting a bit—something about patch notes. Let’s dive into that wonderful chaos, shall we?
Mario Kart World Update 1.1.0 Details (June 4, 2025)
Uh, so first up is CameraPlay. You need a USB camera for this—yeah, they’re selling that separately. Typical, huh? When you flip the camera on during races, guess what? You get to see your face. Why do I find this funny? No clue. Just do.
Online play is “enabled.” Fancy word for “you can play now.” LAN Play too! Wanna switch to LAN? Press some buttons—L Stick, L and R—and poof, Wireless Play morphs into LAN Play. Like magic, if magic were complicated button combos.
Time Trials just got a ghostly update. Upload, download, race your ghost—whatever spooky thing you wanna do. Also, there are player icons in Free Roam now. Always fun to see who’s close by. Maybe too close. Personal space, anyone?
More characters right from the start. Yay, more digital buddies to pick from! And multiplayer for more than two players is now less, um, difficult? Playing with three or more used to be like juggling cats. Now, maybe it’s just juggling… kittens? Tiny improvement, I guess.
Oh, and no more time limits when picking courses. Decisiveness is overrated anyway. Got all the time in the world to choose NOW.
And—drumroll, please—the title screen has a version display. So you’ll actually know what version you’re playing. Revolutionary, huh?
That about sums it up, I think. Feels like a lot but also, oddly, not much? Who knows. Still, pretty neat stuff overall.
