Alright, so Ubisoft’s cooking up something spicy for Assassin’s Creed Shadows this summer. They tossed out this roadmap thing — basically a gamer’s treasure map, but not the pirate kind. July 29 is the date to circle on your calendars. Why? Because there’s a whole bunch of cool stuff coming. Firstly, they’re jacking up the level cap. Yeah, goodbye level 60, hello level 80. Like, they just straight up decided, “You know what, let’s give everyone more room to grow.” Maybe they just love the number 80, or maybe they want us gaming for eternity. Who knows.
Oh, and they’re dropping something called new game plus. I’m not entirely sure what that means, but apparently, once you finish the big grand finale of the story, you get to jump back in like some sort of time traveler. Your story resets, but your gear and skills? They stick around. It’s like having your cake and eating it too — but, you know, with stabby swords and medieval intrigue.
And, oh man, let’s not forget the upgrades. You get new Knowledge Ranks, Mastery, upgrades for Hideouts. Heard of Heiji’s Forge? Yeah, that’s getting some love too. I don’t know who Heiji is, but his forge sounds important now. Just imagine the sounds — clinking, smashing, maybe a bit of roaring fire? Whatever that sounds like.
Anyway, July 29’s also when Project 3 floats into town with some Animus-something-or-other rewards. Do we really need another project? I guess so. But fear not, if you’re knee-deep in Projects 1 and 2, you can either hustle through or switch tracks. No rush, Ubisoft’s words, not mine.
Let’s fast forward a bit. September is promising a quality-of-life update. What’s that entail? Beats me, but sounds like some good comfort improvements are on their way. But the real kicker? On September 16, say hello to the “Claws of Awaji” — the game’s first expansion. You pre-order folks get it on the house. They’re saving the juicy details for an AMA on Reddit. August 12, folks — mark that one too.
All this talk is making me wish for medieval Japan adventures — swords clashing, whispers of the wind, and all that jazz. It’s like a reminder of simpler times but with epic stories to dive into. Anyway — well, now my mind’s just wandering.
