Whoa, so here we go with the tale of Electronic Arts finally giving Anthem the ol’ heave-ho. It’s happening – they’re pulling the plug next year.
Picture this: you’re scrolling a blog post, yeah? EA drops the bomb – come January 12th, 2026, poof, Anthem’s offline. You’ll still have that fancy in-game currency, though. Spend it like there’s no tomorrow. Literally.
EA’s all like, “We love you guys, thank you for hanging in there.” Sweet, but kind of like, “We’re breaking up, but here’s a hug for old times’ sake.”
Now, they swear no one’s lost their job– yet. Could that change? Eh, maybe. Time will tell, I guess.
Anthem was EA and BioWare’s… grand adventure, you could say? Came out swinging in 2019, but let’s be real, it didn’t catch on. Like trying to light a wet match – good luck with that! Then, the whole behind-the-scenes drama surfaced. Not pretty.
So, BioWare, bless ’em, decided a revamp was in order. Anthem 2.0! Or, at least, that was the dream. Spoiler alert: Anthem Next was scrapped. Such is life in the wild world of gaming.
