Spinning Strikes is an Ash of War acquired early in the game near Castle Morne on the Weeping Peninsula. For those not accustomed to attacking every NPC they meet, it might not appear until reaching the Liurnia of the Lakes region. This skill lets players spin with a compatible polearm, providing an efficient melee attack for a low FP cost.
Interestingly, Spinning Strikes offers more than just attacking multiple enemies. A Reddit user, Fail1ure, stumbled upon its ability to counter Margit’s daggers by accident, capturing the moment in a viral video shared with the Elden Ring subreddit. The footage, posted in April 2025, quickly gained over 7,000 upvotes, indicating this was news to many.
While Margit’s daggers aren’t the most threatening, often easily dodged, this revelation highlights the potential of Spinning Strikes against other projectile attacks from challenging bosses. It’s even effective in PvP scenarios for deflecting thrown items.
