Kluge Interactive, the creators of the popular VR rhythm title Synth Riders (2019), are gearing up to launch their next big project. FINAL FURY, a VR fighting game, is set to hit early access on Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Mark your calendars for May 8th when Final Fury will be available for Quest 2 and higher, as well as PC VR headsets. This game promises to deliver the feel of classic 1v1 arcade battles, reinvented through an innovative gesture-based gameplay system tailored for VR.
The game has been shaped with insights from none other than nine-time EVO champion, Justin Wong. The early access version features a dynamic mix of hand gestures and actual room-scale movement, allowing players to step into the shoes of six distinct fighters, each with their unique moves and arenas. The development team promises more content to come after the launch.
"When Kluge Interactive approached me about FINAL FURY, their vision to blend classic fighting mechanics with a VR-first-person experience caught my interest," Wong shared. "I’ve been involved in refining aspects like dashes, grabs, and character styles, and I’m eager to see how players will dive into the game when it becomes available in Early Access."
