Oh wow, so there’s this game – Dysmantle, right? It’s like this survival adventure thingy, and apparently, it’s a hit. I mean, it’s sold over 2 million copies. That’s huge, right? Or maybe it’s just me who thinks so.
Anyway, 10tons, the folks behind it, spilled the beans about reaching this big number. It’s been like, what, over 40 months since they officially dropped the game in November 2021. And fun fact: it was chilling in Early Access for a year before that. So yeah, it’s out there on PCs, PlayStations, Xboxes, Switches, iPhones, and Androids. Quite a spread, huh?
But, surprise! No clue how the sales stack up across all those platforms. They’re keeping that part a mystery, I guess.
So to mark this 2 million thing, guess what? They’re rolling out a new physical version of Dysmantle for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Yay, more discs! Or carts. Or whatever.
Sampo Töyssy – such a cool name, right? – he’s the co-founder and kind of a big wig at 10tons, had this heart-to-heart. He basically said they can’t thank the fans enough for making this whole milestone happen. Oh, and they’re unleashing that physical edition on June 27th. But here’s the kicker: they wanted to do a US release too, only… stuff happened, and now that’s kinda up in the air. Which kinda sucks, to be honest. But still, they hope folks grab a copy if they’re keen.
I dunno why this stuck with me, but it kinda feels bittersweet, like when you plan a party and your favorite candy gets left out. Or maybe that’s a weird analogy. Who knows. But hey, major congrats to them!
