Man, Capcom’s been crushing it lately with the whole Resident Evil deal. Like, they just can’t stop, right? So now they’re gearing up for Resident Evil 9, but they’re calling it “Resident Evil Requiem” — kinda catchy, isn’t it? And get this, they dropped the news bomb at Summer Game Fest 2025. Boom, mark your calendars for February 27, 2026. I’m already circling that date in red ink. Or maybe blue. Whatever.
Anyway — hang on, what was I saying? Oh yeah, the trailer! This guy strolls through an office, right? All normal until he hits up Agent Grace Ashcroft’s desk. Apparently, there’s a… um, another body? Yeah, classic opener. He’s all, “We need your eyes on this one.” Total movie moment.
Then Grace, she’s thrown back into this flashback of the Remwood Hotel. Spooky stuff, considering that’s where her mom was—well, you know. Chills, man. Absolute chills. Suddenly, Grace is upside down in some contraption, and a creepy voice chimes in. Like, “You’re the chosen one, Miss Ashcroft.” I mean, what?!
And then the music! It just flips to Raccoon City falling apart again. There’s shadows and freaky creatures — gave me goosebumps just watching. I swear, can’t wait to dive back into that craziness.
Also, on a side note, Capcom’s been just nailing it for years. I remember Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in 2017, right? That was a game-changer, and I was like, finally back to horror roots! Resident Evil 6 went a bit action-heavy, which, not gonna lie, I wasn’t vibing with. But Biohazard? Chef’s kiss. Then they went on this remake binge with RE2 in 2019, RE3 in 2020, and heck, even did RE4 in 2023.
I really hope Requiem keeps this party going. Resident Evil Requiem, mark it down: February 27, 2026. Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC—you name it, it’s there. Can’t wait.
