Okay, so last week (I think? Time’s a blur, honestly), we thought we’d dig into the whole expressive faces thing in video games. Not entirely sure why, but it’s kinda fascinating — like, what makes a virtual face… express stuff? So, we threw out a challenge on #PSshare #PSBlog. And you all went for it! Here’s what we got this round:
Right off the bat, MrioMoreno5 sent us this shot of Ellie — yeah, from The Last of Us Part II — and her face is just glowing. Seriously, it’s like she caught sight of a unicorn or something equally magical. I might be exaggerating, but that’s the vibe I got. Weird how that happens, huh?
Then, Couch_Gamer2k23 gave us a glimpse of Maelle from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Now, her expression isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. She’s got that “should I be worried?” look, which I can totally relate to. Sometimes I feel like that just standing in line for coffee.
Next up, EmperorHal decided to show us Deacon from Days Gone Remastered, and he’s not having a great day, let me tell you. Grimacing like he’s either about to fight someone or just got a parking ticket — not sure which is worse. But hey, it caught my eye, so props for that.
Oh, and xirantics tossed in Cait Sith from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth with this cheeky grin plastered on its face. Kinda made me chuckle — it’s like that cat knows a joke and won’t spill it. Ever met someone like that? It’s maddening. But I digress.
What’s next? Ah, player1pov snapped Raven in Stellar Blade, looking all fierce and ready to take on the world. Or maybe just someone who tried to steal her fries. Hard to say, but that intensity? Unmatched.
And then, there was RhodWulfLeon who caught Aloy in Horizon Forbidden West. She’s lying in the grass, gazing off like she’s deep in thought — maybe dreaming about robot dinosaurs? Or just the meaning of life, who knows. Felt kinda poetic, honestly.
Want to see more faces that just… express things? Check out #PSshare #PSBlog on Twitter or Insta — it’s a whole mood. Want to be part of next week’s chaos? Go for those monochromatic vibes, pick one color, and let it dominate the scene. Show us and use the tags for a chance to be featured. Can’t wait to see what wild stuff you all come up with next.
