#### Battle System
This new installment builds on the effortless transition between field and command battles introduced earlier, adding fresh mechanics: Cross Charge and EX Chains! Master these combos for a devastating edge over enemies.
#### Cross Charge
In a field battle, if you execute a Perfect Dodge, the Cross Charge icon will appear. Hit the right button while it’s visible, and you can swap another party member in, who will immediately launch a charge attack against the enemy. Plus, the swapped member gains boosted attack power briefly.
#### EX Chains
Activate EX Chains by meeting specific criteria in command battles. Once triggered, hitting a stunned enemy with a craft or regular attack automatically ignites an EX Chain. This combo allows team members who are SCLM activated to simultaneously strike, impacting nearby foes with considerable damage.
#### Choose Your Chapters
Throughout Trails Through Daybreak II, Van and his comrades may venture separately across Calvard, handling different tasks. This dynamic leads to several chapters that you can explore in any sequence you wish. Experience the story in your chosen order, with each chapter showcasing a unique lineup of characters and perspectives on the unfolding events.
After wrapping up a chapter, the next automatically begins to weave in seamlessly.
#### Unique Missions
Some chapters introduce missions that highlight the particular skills of the characters in that storyline. You might directly control the AI Mare to hack the orbal network or guide Swin in trailing a suspect stealthily.
