Okay, so here’s the thing. Elden Ring Nightreign’s servers are finally back online. They went down for a bit today, not that anyone noticed, but when they came back, boom, patch time! FromSoftware decided to drop this first sorta-major patch since launch, and honestly, it’s a mixed bag of goodies for solo players out there.
Let’s see… Update 1.01.1 — yup, it’s live everywhere. Might as well dive into what’s what, right? Oh, but first, one of those embed thingies popped up about cookies or something. Can we ever escape them? Tough luck there.
Anyway, when Nightreign kicked off, solo players were grumbling about how it felt like the game was bullying them for playing alone. Sure, it’s made for teams of three. But still, solo folks were like, “Cut us some slack, will you?” So, surprise! FromSoftware swooped in like a hero with some quick fixes—they said these tweaks were supposed to be in the next patch, but hey, you get them now. Lucky us.
So, what’s new for solo mode? You get a free revival in boss fights once per night. Yeah, no earning necessary. Team players? Sorry, you still gotta earn it. Plus, now you get more runes when you’re playing solo. Guess they figured you could use the extra help without teammates. Makes leveling up slightly less of a grind.
Now, for everyone else, they upped the high-rarity Relics count if you make it to Day 3 in Expeditions. Those pesky stones at Scenic Flat? More likely to spit out the good stuff now, apparently. Better grab some at the Small Jar Bazaar if you’re in the mood.
Oh, picture time—big ol’ boss shot with a few brave adventurers. The sense of “Why am I even doing this?” included at no extra charge.
Bugs, bugs, bugs. Plenty squished in this update. What caught my eye was the camera fix for the Guardian’s Ultimate. No more whiplash views, thank goodness. Skills weren’t triggering right, or their numbers were getting all funky. Fixed a bunch there, too.
Bug fixes galore incoming—adjusted some camera bits with the Guardian’s Ultimate move, “Wings of Salvation.” Next, the Duchess had a skill issue where her move “Restage” didn’t trigger ailments. Gotta say, not cool, bug. Some attacks were dealing more damage than FromSoftware intended or something. Seriously, who’s keeping tabs on Greataxes and Great Hammers? Other fixes? Enemies rising from the dead more often than they should’ve. I mean, once is enough, right? Let’s see… bleeding issues? Check. Attack ranges going rogue? Check. Passive effects being shy? Yep, dealt with.
Steam players got their own little fixes. Graphics acting up when set to “Low” in settings, some climbing mishaps with keyboard or gamepad… fun stuff.
