Well, isn’t this something? The Pokémon folks are at it again, and I gotta say, I’m more amused than I should be. Starting next week — I think it’s Wednesday, July 30, 2025, if my calendar isn’t lying to me — they’re rolling out this new expansion for Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. They’re calling it “Wisdom of Sea and Sky.” Sounds fancy, right?
So, apparently, you can bump into those critters from the Johto region. Remember Pokémon Gold and Silver? Yeah, those guys. Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile — oh, and the big wigs, Lugia and Ho-Oh. Never figured I’d still be excited about fictional creatures, but here we are.
And here’s a twist. We’ve got Pokémon now that can attack without that over-hyped Energy business. How’s that gonna shake up gameplay? Could be an epic saga or just, well, chaos. Only time will tell.
Oh, but wait, there’s more! They’re tinkering with the Trade feature too. Something about a Wishlist deal where you can flaunt your card desires to the universe. Up to 20 cards, I think. Can’t say I couldn’t use that for life in general. Wouldn’t it be neat if everything had a wishlist option?
And then there’s this shinedust thing. Sounds like something a fairy tale character would hoard, but no, it’s for card trading. You can’t use trade tokens anymore, I think? Gotta swap those for some mystical hourglasses and shinedust in the game shop. Catch is, you gotta complete missions or duplicate your cards. Feels a bit like life’s requirements piling up, huh?
Before I forget — you Pokémon TCG enthusiasts can grab this on the App Store and Google Play. No excuses there.
Right, where was I? Oh, video trailers. Almost missed mentioning that, but that’s its own rabbit hole. Anyway, for the brave souls venturing into this new realm, the trailer’s there whenever you need a dose of visual Pokémon excitement.
So, there you have it. My wonderfully chaotic brain dump about the latest Pokémon card shenanigans. Go forth and enjoy the madness!
