I’m going to try to remember how it went. So, Resolution Games, they just gave us a sneak peek at this new Dungeons & Dragons thing. It’s like a mashup with Demeo, you know, that VR board game deal.
They started talking about this whole partnership with Hasbro ages ago—January, I think? Yeah, that’s it. Anyway, now they’ve finally shown some actual gameplay from this Demeo x D&D: Battlemarked. Not too long, just a bit of running around dungeons, which were full of monsters, because what else would they be filled with, right?
Now, this is the part where I should explain Demeo for those who haven’t had the headset pleasure yet. Picture a digital board game: you and three pals against whatever lurks in these grid-like dungeons. Oh, and dice—only one, and it’s not as fancy as you’d think. Just hits, critical hits, and big old fails. But hey, I guess that’s part of the charm? You use action points to move and cards to fight. No clue why, but the dice thing just stuck with me.
Oh, and don’t forget, Battlemarked’s doing the VR and non-VR thing—like, you can play it on a regular monitor or go all-in with VR. Options are good, though sometimes I wonder if it makes things too chaotic.
They’re banking on the D&D vibe a lot—to bring in the lore and all that. Matt Sernett (fancy name, right?), apparently, he’s steering the narrative ship. Worked on Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale back in the day. So, the nostalgia factor is through the roof.
Anyway, what’s important is you can wishlist it now, if that’s your thing. Available on Quest 3, PSVR 2, and PC VR. Expect more details soon-ish, like late 2025. Somehow feels both far away and right around the corner, doesn’t it?
