Native PS5 Ports for Classic Shooters: Free Upgrades Possible

A whole bunch of classic shooters, yeah, they’re called the STALKER: Legends of the Zone Trilogy — you know, those games from PS4? Looks like they might be getting a shiny new PS5 version soon. I mean, at least if some rating board guys in Taiwan are onto something. These games hit PS4 back in March 2024. I swear I’ve been waiting forever for this upgrade.

Okay, get this: there’s a rumor — or maybe just a dream — that the PS5 upgrade could be free if you own the old ones. Gematsu picked up on this PS5 and Xbox Series X|S ratings thing. GSC World, the makers, said something about upgrades before, but left us hanging about when. Typical, right?

Honestly, seems like it’d be a no-brainer to offer it free, given the trilogy dropped only like a year back on the older console. But then again, they haven’t said if they’ll slap on a fee. Who decides this stuff? Anyway, you’d think it wouldn’t cost someone who already forked out $39.99 on the PS Store.

Right now, you can sorta play all three on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, but let’s be real — it’s not exactly the smoothest ride. Ever play on cardboard tires? Pretty much feels like that.
