In this case, as soon as July 15 hit, Reddit was buzzing with players venting about all sorts of mischief going on. Laggy gameplay, teleporting characters, and enemies dishing out crazy damage. Console players were especially salty — gameplay was like that awkward first date where nothing goes right.

And here’s the kicker — as all this was unfolding, Blizzard dropped a surprise event. Gift of the Tree, they called it. Ran till July 22. Basically, you got a Gift of the Tree Cache every time you turned in Whispers. Neat, right? Except the patch chaos just overshadowed it all, like that one friend who spills their drink all over the birthday cake.
Lately, Diablo 4’s been getting a lot of flak. Season 9? Not winning any awards, especially after the bummer that was Season 8. So yeah, players are kinda grumpy, more so than happy.
