Ok, so here goes nothing. You know, I was just thinking about how some things stick with you, like this game — The Invisible Hours. Picture it: Rob Yescombe, the guy behind this wild VR mystery, got the rights back. Seriously, why do I picture him doing a happy dance? Anyway, he’s talking about remastering it for all the cool new VR headsets. Maybe even TV and film. Honestly, that could be epic or a total mess. Who knows?
Hollywood Reporter spilled the beans, saying he’s hunting for partners to bring this mystery to the screen. It’s this crazy mashup of Agatha Christie vibes and the board game Clue. Maybe that’s why it clicked. Or maybe it’s just the mansion on a creepy remote island. I mean, secret murder mystery with Tesla? Yes, please.
Oh, right — you don’t play as anyone in particular. You’re just this invisible, all-seeing dude. Rewind, fast-forward, follow people around like a supernatural creep. Anyway — wait, was I rambling? Yeah, you unravel who offed Nikola Tesla, the big-brain engineer guy.
Back in 2017, it hit PC VR and PSVR, got all the praise. But then, Tequila Works wanted to sling it to Quest in 2020. Fast forward (or rewind? I digress) to 2024, and poof, studio’s gone. Just like that.
Now, Yescombe’s all like, “This game should totally get a facelift.” He’s practically in love with his own creation — I mean, understandable. Fans still bugging him, which is kinda sweet. VR’s bigger now, he says. Millions out there. Remaster it? Well, why not?
Since then, he’s scribbled stories for more games — The Twilight Zone VR, Arizona Sunshine 2, you name it. Oh, and The Precinct. Plus, he wrote for some flicks like that Outside the Wire on Netflix and even Jackpot!, which sounds like a riot. Not to brag, but he’s tangled with big names like Alien and Blade Runner. Even Family Guy! That’s a lineup, right?
Anyway, who knows if this remaster thing happens, but it’s got my brain buzzing like mad.
