Oh man, here we go — another wacky adventure in virtual reality land. Studio Chyr (you know, the brains behind Manifold Garden, which was a trip in itself) is back at it. This time, they’re bringing us Hotel Infinity. Yeah, it’s coming to PS VR2 and Quest. It’s supposed to drop later this year — unless something wild happens.
Imagine this: a twisted Grand Hotel where everything’s just a bit off, kind of like that dream where you’re trying to find your room but end up in a dentist’s office instead. The game’s got these “impossible spaces” — whatever that means — to stretch your brain in all directions. It’s definitely not your average anything.
So, Studio Chyr — smart folks who love messing with architectural puzzles — are going all in on giving us this roomscale adventure. You get to bounce around this crazy hotel within just a 2 x 2 meter area. Sounds kinda tight, but maybe that’s just part of the head-scratching fun? Reality’s twisted here, so don’t trust those briefcases you see lying around. They could be holding, I dunno, tiny clowns or something. And elevators? Forget it. They’re doing whatever they please.
Oh, and they’re playing with VR’s cool gadgetry, so you can touch and mess with just about everything in those endless, eerie halls. But hey, if you’re not the type to stand and roam, they’ve got you. You can sit or stand or whatever, and still get lost in this surreal escapade.
Now, for those PS VR2 junkies out there, the game hooks into all that nifty haptic feedback jazz, using those Sense controllers (big shout out to the folks at PlayStation Blog for spreading the word on that).
So yeah, keep an eye out. Hotel Infinity, later this year, is going to challenge our ideas of space, and probably our patience, too. Prepare your minds for some serious bending.
