Oh man, where do I even start with this Virtuix thing? They’re the brains behind this wild VR treadmill called Omni One. Just imagine running around your living room without actually, like, leaving it. They cooked up this crowd-investment thing last year — and wow, people got on board. Phase two, or Series B-2, wrapped up, and they’re now $3 million richer. Wild, right?
Anyway, they did this through some place called StartEngine, and wowza, over a thousand people chucked money at them. Grand total? Over $3.2 million for this round. All this Series B stuff adds up to more than 18 million bucks. Yeah, you read that right.
So, the Omni One’s pretty much for your average Joe wanting to VR in their jammies, but now Virtuix wants a slice of that military pie. They’re calling it the Omni Mission Trainer, or OMT — sounds fancy, huh? It’s supposed to train soldiers to whirl around with their gear in these hyper-realistic VR landscapes. Picture soldiers with gadgets and, like, doing battle drills in VR. Mind blown.
Oh, fun fact! They buddied up with the U.S. Air Force for this magic. More on that later — maybe. The company’s worth is shot up to a staggering $201.13 million. That’s partially cuz of this pre-IPO stock thing — $6.22 per bit of paper. Yeah, but don’t go thinking you can trade it like GameStop stock; this is private stuff.
The whole shebang started back in 2013, dawdling through Kickstarter and raising a cool $1.1 million. That was just the start. Folks like Mark Cuban threw money at them too. In total, they’ve pulled in over $40 million from big names. Pretty big deal, yeah?
And, oh—sold about $18 million of their gear to bigwig companies like Dave & Buster’s. Virtuix’s got a player base of 400,000 folks and the ability to churn out 3,000 of these Omni One things a month from their factory. That’s the scoop anyway — not too shabby, huh?
